Forgive me father for I have not blogged in a while....

.. it has been many days since my last blog and to be honest can't really remember what's been going on!

So in short, I came back from my mini-escape and felt good. I started training for the mini-marathon again and I'm trying to put on weight after discovering I was 10kg less than I was at the beginning of the year. I'm putting that down to loosing someone very close to me, my dive buddy, kayak buddy, climb buddy, camping buddy, and best friend.

Still life goes on, and when you are told the home truths and realise that that person simply doesn't want you, you can proceed with your own life looking to the future in a different light. And it's not all bad.

I've also joined the Bournemouth Baracudas Dive Club and Southbourne Canoe Club, I'm hoping to meet new dive and paddle buddies here with people who have the same interests as me. :)

I have also been keeping myself busy the last few months developing an idea I had when I was travelling. It was also started in Bali! A series of Social Networking web sites designed for specific sports and activities. The sites would encourage new comers to get involved and provide a means of connecting up with like minded people and also providing valuable information about equipment, activities, getting started etc... I will post the urls here when I am more confident that they work !

Peace out, love you all x

One Life, Live It!

The slogan on the back of a white Land Rover somewhere on the M1!

Exactly, I think that about sums up the last 24 hours perfectly.

So to recap, I became overwhelmed by emotions ~ anger, confusion, apprehension, and confinement. I needed to make some changes in my life I had been putting off. Although I was telling everyone I was fine, I actually wasn't completely fine.

1) Quit Smoking for GOOD! - No sneaky's...

2) Clear my head - Work had been suffering a little as my mind was elsewhere, never good! But easy to ignor!

3) Stop wishing - This is how it is now, what will be will, what has been is in the past!

4) Improve Diet - Looking good has a massive impact on feeling good. Although I have been throwing myself into Xtreme sports activities and excercise (works very well for distraction therapy) I had been neglecting my meals, missing breakfast and lunch often and on occassion not eating all day.

Action needed to be taken and drastically. Answer get away for at least 24 hours if not longer, what ever it would take.

Destination Spain or anywhere but Bournemouth, little did I know what was going to happen next. A quick trip to Oxford and stop for the night. Lovely town full of colleges and research labs! Checked in to a hotel and got some work out of the way, read some interesting manuals about integrating the HSBC XML/CPI with web technologies to produce a integrated secure, on-line payment system. I also picked up a copy of Bizzarre and read that too, very disturbing!

In the morning up bright and early, got some work done. Went and handed in the keys to the room. Whilst in the reception I looked at my trusty road map (no fancy TomTom satnav ~ keeping it real!) I saw a small town called Woodstock! Very Rock N' Roll! Not really lol...

I kept going....

Next on the map was Milton Keynes, never been there! They have concrete cows! (all pics on facebook). Then, Corby! Why not I thought, all the time spotting interesting things, grafiti, sculptures, ancient buildings lovely natural landscapes. The world is a beautiful place full of beautiful things. The world is an interesting place full of interesting things, and interesting people. You can find culture everywhere you look. I met this one guy from Turkey, another from Russia, in fact I don't think a single person I met in Milton Keynes was actually from Milton Keynes!

So Concrete Cows all done, weird sculptures in Corby, where next. Scunthorpe, my final destination. I have always, loosely, support Scunthorpe United F.C. Big up the Scunthorpe United F.C. MASSIVE!!!! The most exhilerateing feeling I have ever had was stood on the bonnet of the car, parked right across the middle of a mini round-about arms in the air right in front of the gates to the football ground. A childhood dream realised! I now have a Scunthorpe United F.C. shirt and so does my daughter - LOL :)

Anyway, fancied some chips so headed for Grimsby! That place actually smells of fish n' chips as you enter the town! Nice chips though, but not worth driving half-way across england for! Glad thats not why I was there ~ lol!

Final Destination reached, fresh ideas for the ecommerce system, and a few lines of new code! A Clear Head, not one single drag on a smoke or even the urge to. Although last night I felt rough as feck.

These, are the times, of our lives.....

Yes, it's very true!

Well, randomness doesn't come any stronger than when it involves the Master of being Random! Embrace the randomness...

Yesterday I went paddling between the two piers of Bournemouth and Boscombe, the sea was dead calm. I've never seen it so flat. There were even hardcore surfers there, oars in hand, poling across the water. Fair play though! One of them did catch a massive 6-incher! Yo! Big up the gnarly surf dude!

Well I wasn't happy to simply paddle back and forth so I attempted an Eskimo Roll, twice, failed both times! I will get it in the end, just needs practice and determination. I love Matilda (my
kayak) she's a dream, I can't wait to get her wet again. I must admit though, when I showed Sally, I thought she might have been a little more enthusiastic about it, seeing as she's more passionate about kayaking than Homer is about donuts!!!

This morning I got up nice and early, went straight to Tesco and bought some breakfast stuff and Nicotine Patches (for those who don't know, I've given up smoking)! Whilst there I randomly bumped in to a very old school friend, haven't seen her in about 18 years or so! So big up the Jane Partington as once were!!!! FRUMPY JUMPERS!!!!! LOL

Say HI to yer mom 4 me will ya! x

So where are we now? Well I don't know about you, but I'm in Oxford! LMAO!!!

Had a crazy notion for a couple of months now about getting away and sorting my head out. (getting over ex therapy) Packed my stuff, got passport and E111 card, drove to Heathrow until find no hotel rooms available while I wait for ticket desks to open in the morning. So I drove on to find somewhere. Well as I was driving, I saw a sign to Oxford. Never been there before, so off to Oxford it was! Not quite Spain, but I've probably done more travelling in Spain than I have my country England! So the plan has now evolved! Screw Spain let's see what the British Isles have to offer! Haven't decided where I will be heading tomorrow, check out of the hotel is 11am. I will have to work of course, but will also try to fit some sight seeing in before I move on.

Have forgot to bring my Camera lead so can't put pics online just yet, but I will sort something out tomorrow. Ciao for now!!

Sometimes it is better to let a memory fade than fighting to keep it...

It's true life can sometimes through you a copper and other times something more precious, and it's how you invest in to any particular situation that will govern what your rewards will be. Sometimes the investment must also be for a long period of time, and taking the time to appreciate that will help you appreciate the end results/rewards.

Dunno where that came from, a rather unusual phone call probably prompted me to do seek inner-sanctity and enlightenment. Anyway, today, much as any got up, had coffee with the ex-wife (won't be doing that for much longer). Worked, had meeting, worked some more, formatted and reinstalled my second workstation. It's rapid now it is! Got all the latest software too so really liking the moment. Geek!

Got my paddling gear ready for tomorrow, was gonna take the ex out paddling (coz I know she likes it) but that kinda all went a bit tits up. Trying to be friends with someone you still have feelings for; is nearly impossible, and although I would love to continue to be friends really don't think it's gonna work. Hence the deep and meaningful statement at the top of this entry. Any potential friendship, no matter how much we both want it, will only be disrupted because I have to keep pretending I don't really care. I'm not like that ~ hence my rules!

1) No ex's!
2) Never go back!

Friendship can happen, but I think usually only after at least a couple of years, and then you can never be true friends again. Something will always be lost when a relationship ends.

Anyway, I will be heading down to Boscombe Pier tomorrow morning after I've been to the gym with Jamie. Hopefully I won't be the only one, but if I am, I will just have to be extra careful. I will be going to the Southbourne Canoe Club on Thursday next week instead of Kung Fu and it's Hot Rocks on Tuesday around 5pm.

As for the weekend, well I know what I would like to be doing. lol. Camping has been on the cards maybe...or maybe hit a club or two, haven't done that in a few weeks...

Another week almost at it's end...

Unbelievable, almost another week finished... it seems like Chloe was only here 5 minutes ago!

Well she left me with a cold, but I am well and truly on the up, so now can look forward to a more active lifestyle again. Starting tonight with Kung Fu. More of that later.

Well news over the last couple of days. The ex-wife has been asked to move out within 2 months for making too much noise! Well I don't know about that, if she were too noisy I would have said something. Anyway, it may have come as a blessing in disguise. She has found a nice house with garden not far from here. Things happen for a reason!

Got the laptop back up and running again! Vista Black, very sexy! Hush Hush!!

Went to Wing Chun tonight and showed a block of wood what for I'll tell you! lol been waiting 2 weeks for this, and boy did I give it! 1-inch punch mastered lol!

So tomorrow, Friday, got a meeting with the boys, hopefully get HSBC online payment system finally working right! Then who knows, may try get up the wall early evening then maybe go into town? Dunno yet!

De man from Le Doctor's; he say YES!!!

Right, Sunday!

Sunday, was for most of the day a lazy day. Chloe was not very well at all so we spent the day on the sofa and watched the T.V.

After Chloe had gone back to her mum's I got myself ready to visit a friends for Mexican Fajita's, hmmm!!! Spicy!!! It was a good crack, we opened a bottle or two and generally talked crap for the evening.

At this point I was starting to feel a little under the weather myself.

Next morning, after a fairly restless night, I got out of bed and went to the doctors about my shoulder again. This time it was better news. Still no xtreme sports or heavy weights but at least I can still train for the marathons. Yipee!

As a celebrationary gift to myself, I had a hair cut! It's amazing how good a haricut can make you feel!

The day went reasonably well, worked as usual, got a virus on 2 PC's and managed to completely loose the operating system on the laptop. Hmm! Better get that sorted me thinks...

Stocked up on soup, had a bath and hit the sack early only to wake up at 3am unable to nod back off. So I chatted to my NY friend Andrew and Om from Mumbai in India. Eventually got back to sleep but felt pretty rough first thing and opted out of going to the gym today.

Matilda's Maiden Voyage....

Quick update on Chloe!  She seems alot better today.  Was up around 9am and playing on the laptop in her room.  One thing you need to know about Chloe, is that she likes making up games.  Especially rulles to games, really complex rules!  Anyhow, she's invented a real simple games using a china dolls tea set and Pizza Madness the pizza balancing game.  I won't tell you the rules but they are simple and it is quite an enjoyable game.  And she loved adding new rules lol :)

Later on we got Matilda ready and strapped her to the roof of the car.

Yes, it finally happened!  Matilda took her first swim with me today!   She was amazing.  LOL  :)

How buzzing am I!!!  You just don't realise.  After the last few weeks of climbing the walls at home I was able to finally get into Matilda and take her out on the Stour in Bouremouth.  It was a lovely sunny day and Chloe cycled along side on the river bank.  My mate Jamie also came along with his kids to have a giggle at my expense!  The current was ridiculously strong and I did think about not going in, especially with my shoulder the way it is.  But at the end of the day, when all is said and done, I was there, the river was there and Matilda had travelled on the roof of the car to go for a swim.

IOt is so easy to get addicted to this sport.  The way you drift with the current or battle with it makes the whole experience pleasurable and exciting.  Almost capsized twice - lol.  Oh dear!

Made a lovely pepperoni lasagne tonight for tea.  Then sorted out the office files, finally.  Said Hi to some new friends and now it's time for bed.  Wonder what we will do tomorrow.  I love being spontanious...
