Sometimes it is better to let a memory fade than fighting to keep it...

It's true life can sometimes through you a copper and other times something more precious, and it's how you invest in to any particular situation that will govern what your rewards will be. Sometimes the investment must also be for a long period of time, and taking the time to appreciate that will help you appreciate the end results/rewards.

Dunno where that came from, a rather unusual phone call probably prompted me to do seek inner-sanctity and enlightenment. Anyway, today, much as any got up, had coffee with the ex-wife (won't be doing that for much longer). Worked, had meeting, worked some more, formatted and reinstalled my second workstation. It's rapid now it is! Got all the latest software too so really liking the moment. Geek!

Got my paddling gear ready for tomorrow, was gonna take the ex out paddling (coz I know she likes it) but that kinda all went a bit tits up. Trying to be friends with someone you still have feelings for; is nearly impossible, and although I would love to continue to be friends really don't think it's gonna work. Hence the deep and meaningful statement at the top of this entry. Any potential friendship, no matter how much we both want it, will only be disrupted because I have to keep pretending I don't really care. I'm not like that ~ hence my rules!

1) No ex's!
2) Never go back!

Friendship can happen, but I think usually only after at least a couple of years, and then you can never be true friends again. Something will always be lost when a relationship ends.

Anyway, I will be heading down to Boscombe Pier tomorrow morning after I've been to the gym with Jamie. Hopefully I won't be the only one, but if I am, I will just have to be extra careful. I will be going to the Southbourne Canoe Club on Thursday next week instead of Kung Fu and it's Hot Rocks on Tuesday around 5pm.

As for the weekend, well I know what I would like to be doing. lol. Camping has been on the cards maybe...or maybe hit a club or two, haven't done that in a few weeks...

Another week almost at it's end...

Unbelievable, almost another week finished... it seems like Chloe was only here 5 minutes ago!

Well she left me with a cold, but I am well and truly on the up, so now can look forward to a more active lifestyle again. Starting tonight with Kung Fu. More of that later.

Well news over the last couple of days. The ex-wife has been asked to move out within 2 months for making too much noise! Well I don't know about that, if she were too noisy I would have said something. Anyway, it may have come as a blessing in disguise. She has found a nice house with garden not far from here. Things happen for a reason!

Got the laptop back up and running again! Vista Black, very sexy! Hush Hush!!

Went to Wing Chun tonight and showed a block of wood what for I'll tell you! lol been waiting 2 weeks for this, and boy did I give it! 1-inch punch mastered lol!

So tomorrow, Friday, got a meeting with the boys, hopefully get HSBC online payment system finally working right! Then who knows, may try get up the wall early evening then maybe go into town? Dunno yet!

De man from Le Doctor's; he say YES!!!

Right, Sunday!

Sunday, was for most of the day a lazy day. Chloe was not very well at all so we spent the day on the sofa and watched the T.V.

After Chloe had gone back to her mum's I got myself ready to visit a friends for Mexican Fajita's, hmmm!!! Spicy!!! It was a good crack, we opened a bottle or two and generally talked crap for the evening.

At this point I was starting to feel a little under the weather myself.

Next morning, after a fairly restless night, I got out of bed and went to the doctors about my shoulder again. This time it was better news. Still no xtreme sports or heavy weights but at least I can still train for the marathons. Yipee!

As a celebrationary gift to myself, I had a hair cut! It's amazing how good a haricut can make you feel!

The day went reasonably well, worked as usual, got a virus on 2 PC's and managed to completely loose the operating system on the laptop. Hmm! Better get that sorted me thinks...

Stocked up on soup, had a bath and hit the sack early only to wake up at 3am unable to nod back off. So I chatted to my NY friend Andrew and Om from Mumbai in India. Eventually got back to sleep but felt pretty rough first thing and opted out of going to the gym today.

Matilda's Maiden Voyage....

Quick update on Chloe!  She seems alot better today.  Was up around 9am and playing on the laptop in her room.  One thing you need to know about Chloe, is that she likes making up games.  Especially rulles to games, really complex rules!  Anyhow, she's invented a real simple games using a china dolls tea set and Pizza Madness the pizza balancing game.  I won't tell you the rules but they are simple and it is quite an enjoyable game.  And she loved adding new rules lol :)

Later on we got Matilda ready and strapped her to the roof of the car.

Yes, it finally happened!  Matilda took her first swim with me today!   She was amazing.  LOL  :)

How buzzing am I!!!  You just don't realise.  After the last few weeks of climbing the walls at home I was able to finally get into Matilda and take her out on the Stour in Bouremouth.  It was a lovely sunny day and Chloe cycled along side on the river bank.  My mate Jamie also came along with his kids to have a giggle at my expense!  The current was ridiculously strong and I did think about not going in, especially with my shoulder the way it is.  But at the end of the day, when all is said and done, I was there, the river was there and Matilda had travelled on the roof of the car to go for a swim.

IOt is so easy to get addicted to this sport.  The way you drift with the current or battle with it makes the whole experience pleasurable and exciting.  Almost capsized twice - lol.  Oh dear!

Made a lovely pepperoni lasagne tonight for tea.  Then sorted out the office files, finally.  Said Hi to some new friends and now it's time for bed.  Wonder what we will do tomorrow.  I love being spontanious...

I truly believe...

Well, Chloe's Birthday party was amazing (19th Feb), all photos on Facebook. We started the day by giving her a new mountain bike, she loves cycling and has done ever since Sallys mum spent the summer with her and encouraging her to cycle. Good old Nanny Pooh! Then I had to spend some of the morning working. The guys came round we had meetings blah blah and then it was time for the pop stars to get ready and head down the studio.

They laid down some track recordings of there favourite song, High School Musical , Mamamia etc... And whilst the cd was being made we took the opportunity to get a quick photo shoot out of the way. The kids were great!

Once finished at the recording studio a limo picked the young stars up and drove them round town, it was a wild party.

All photos are available on Facebook and I will upload some of the finished tracks soon. LOL.

Yesterday was less adventurous although fun all the same. Worked in the morning and had a video and photo shoot in the afternoon. The brief was to shoot video using a crane and green screen of a hot chick and morph her into a motorbike. Very Industrial Light & Magic! Whilst there we also shot some promotion photos which I will be sorting out and uploading soon.

Last night Chloe was really ill. Projectile vommiting, not good, bless her! She seems ok now, and we are spending a bit of time with her mum. We may even take some nice pictures of Sarah, she was asking the other day and got all excited - LOL! If not I may take Matilda out for a quick paddle.

I'm tired, this is gonna be quick...

Chloe's birthday was great, photo's on Facebook. She's with me this weekend, but not well. In fact was sick! Not nice bless her.

Did a photo and video shoot, was good fun!

Caught up with everyone as usual ;) Love ya all x Especially you Rob lol!

Got spots :( feel grim, can't sleep (insomnia I think) need something to do! Might take up flower arranging or something. Yoga maybe!?!

Will fill you in more detail tomorrow. Good night and sleep tight.

Thursday 19 February 2009

I've been gone away too long...

Yesterday was a very busy one, for some reason (I think it's because I'm not doing my training) not getting to sleep at night. To be honest I haven't slept all night!!! Oh dear!

Anyways, usual get up for work, hanging again, get loads of crap out of the way, launch a new website and make changes to existing sites.

Boring! Anyways I have come up with something very exciting and have been looking into it's implementations... ooooo! No more to be said ~ to techie anyways.

Also started the launch of the Worldwide Social Networking sites, a series of Facebook style social networking sites dedicated to specific interestes e.g. diving, climbing, kayaking, keep fit etc... I will post the addresses when then sites are ready to start receiving visitors. By the way I am looking for volunteers passionate about their hobbies to write content for the sites. Any takers?

So that was the morning! At 2pm I had to go to the solicitors to discuss the flat situation, a letter is being written and we'll just have to see what happens next!

Later in the afternoon I went to see the doctor agaim, he wants me to stay off excercise for at least another week, no way! Just gonna have to put up with the pain!

Before you know it, it's evening, dinner time! Sarah, my ex-wife who lives above me with my daughter, asked me to look after Chloe while she popped out, while she was gone I cooked peppered Chicken marrinated in Red Wine, and covred in black bean sauce, hmm! Delicious! It was actually really pleasant, I havn't cooked for Sarah in years, and since the other ex left I haven't really been doing the cooking thing.

Visited a friend the evening had a beer and then headed home where I put together my latest mix, did some more to the social networking sites and started designing the flyers promoting the Facebook Party Bournemouth event. If I can get enough interest on the facebook group, then I will go ahead and book a venue and get DJs. I reckon the event has the potential of being really good.

So today is my daughter, Chloe's, 8th birthday party! She's going to a recording studio with her friends to record a CD, then they're being picked up from the studio in a limo and driven round, getting all the star treatment, followed by a party at the flats! All I got when I was 8 was a cake shaped like a scelextrics set and McDonalds!

Another day, another technological breakthrough...

Hello again, not much has happened, yesterday I worked. Oh yes, nearly forgot to mention the 1TB Bad Boy I now have in my server. Oh yes! filled up 400GB already! lol ;)

It took almost 24 hours to copy everything across the network, grim...

Chloe's birthday present arrived, I had to build it!

So what did today hold, not much really. Work, I seem to be staying up later and later and getting out of bed later and later, it's not good :(

I want to go climbing tomorrow, so may just try and fit it in and do some gentle climbing (if there is such a thing?)

Had a breakthrough with AJAX today. It's complicated but could revolutionise the web! Stay tuned!

Also launched a new site, and have now got the domain names for the all-new social networking sensation! That's if it works!

More details will be released in due course...

A big thankyou to everyone who wished me a happy valentines day, I think I've replied to everyone individually, but just in case x (especially you Robbo!)

Valentines Weekend

Well, that was fairly uneventful, no xtreme sports, so at least I'm being good for a change! I actually spent the evening working and chatting to my frineds on the various messenger thingys I have. It was pleasant and everyone kept me amused until the very early hours of the morning as they have tonight. Thanks everyone, I love you all x.

As for excitement, travels blah blah, well I had an important deadline to meet, worth a few extra quid, so worth putting my life on hold for a couple of days. I am still planning to get away to Spain with in the next few week sso watch this space...

I've also uploaded a new video to facebook...

A Quick Cath Up!!!

It seems that everyone I know is coming done with the flu and colds... I'm keeping well clear!

As you know, I'm falling apart and my doctor has told me I must rest for 7 days, this is gonna be hard. I'm doing fairly well so far, I haven't done kung fu, kayaking, snowboarding, or gym and the only climbing I've done is the walls at home!

With all this spare time I've suddenly discovered I have, I've been editing videos and mixing. The videos will be uploaded to Facebook when they are finished and the mixes will be uploaded somewhere, and if not soon will be!

I am a little gutted I can't train for the runs I have coming up, but a rest is well deserved and and certainly needed in order to keep my fitness up.

I'm also waiting for my first donation guys! Come on dig deep!

As for my travel plans, everything is a little up in the air at the moment whilst I wait for the flat to be sorted out, I'm still very confident that the letting agents will eventually see sense and we certainly seem to be making steps in the right direction.

My daughter Chloe will be 8 on the 19th and for her birthday, Grandma has taken her to London for the weekend to see the show Oliver. I can't wait to hear all about it when she gets back. What an adventure! She's definitely daddies girl...

Last night I went out with a mate to the Famous Pines (lol)! Cracking night and I met some great people who I'm sure will become good friends. I have invited some of them to come climbing on Sunday, and as long as my shoulder is OK I will be joining in, otherwise I'll simply enjoy sharing my passion for climbing with new found friends.

So, what has today got in store? Travel abroad? Matilda's first splash? Seeing old friends? Your guess is as good as mine!

Could things get any worse...

...hell yeah!

Woke up the same time as usual, 6am, had breakfast as usual, neck and shoulder aching as usual, except I had pins and needles all down the arm. Went to the gym, but didn't last long. :( Got home and booked an appointment to see the doctor.

Basically the snowboarding accident I had a few weeks ago hadn't healed properly and all the excercise I've been doing had probably caused a nerve to get trapped between muscles or something. Any the up shot of it is :-

No Climbing
No Kayaking
No Gym
No Running
No Snowboarding

In fact NO XTREME SPORTS OF ANY KIND!!!!!

Gutted! Anyway I will be climbing the walls for the next 7 days until I can get back into the swing of things again.

A big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Frank, the coolest person I know. Big up the Frankie Boy!!!!! Aroooooooooo!!!!!

I hope you had an amazing day! We will have to catch up soon and relive the memories. I promise I will get the videos edited too!

That's us in Cairns, Australia on the roof of the Global Palace on our last night in Oz - good times!

Tuesday 10 February 2009

Adam, you have been evicted, please leave the big brither house....

Monday, new week, new day...

It took a while but the flat is kind of back to normal. Still got to sort out the hob, but I am saving that as a treat for later!

So what happened then, well, the day started at 6am as per usual. Jamie came round and we headed to the gym. A quick 10min run followed by an hour weights. We were originally going to running to the gym but the weather was bad, so we opted for the car. Good choice.

Got home around 8:20 and had a coffee with my ex-wife before starting work. It's becoming a regular thing to see my daughter off before school. It's been years since I last did that so it's quite nice :)

Work is as normal, varied and interesting, but also work - we should never forget that!

After work Roger popped over for dinner, we were supposed to go to Wing Chun together but sinus problems prevented Dodge from being able to participate this week. Next session is on Thursday.

After Wing Chun I collected Pete from Borolos (Italian restaurant in Winton), and we headed back to mine to watch a movie. Fairly un-eventful as days go, but quite busy and enjoyable.

Sunday 8 February 2009

Belgium or Bust!

Well, Belgium was obviously not meant to be, after getting everything ready I was unable to get a babysitter to look after my daughter during the morning. Oh well, maybe next time.

Anyways, Chloe and Emma had fun making a complete mess of my flat. They decided to make potions out of marshmallows, washing-up liquid, salt n pepper, high juice, you name it ~ they put it in!

I've got mashed potato powder everywhere, down the cupboards, over the hob, on the floor and rice in the carpet. It's gonna take hours to reclaim my home :(

At lunch we all went to Carolines for roast lamb, I set her computer up so she can upload photos to facebook whilst Chloe & Emma played on the pole! Kids can be so funny some times!

Dinner was late! I was starving, but it was worth the wait...

I'm a bit disappointed I wasn't able to go to Belgium or get the Kayak out, or even go snowboarding on real snow in England. But there is plenty of time for all that.

Tomorrow I have to get up at 6:00am and run to the gym in training for the mini-marathons coming up. Followed by an hour weights (chest) and a run home again - lol! Oh dear!

Then work all day and Wing Chun Kung Fu in the evening. Dodge is coming round for a bite to eat before hand, not sure what I will cook yet?

Update!

The party was fun! Didn't really know anyone but Chloe and Emma have had fun, dancing and the such!!!

Mandi and Caroline you will soon get to know! Caroline especially...

Well, I've just been given the chance to go to Belgium tomorrow! Rock on, so it's off to Europe tomorrow and who knows where in the future!!!!

Saturday 7 February 2009

Back to Normality...

Yep that's right, and thank god too! Had Chloe stay over last night, so we were of course both up at 6am whether I wanted a lie in or not!

Looked outside to see what the weather was like, saw the snow and got excited about the prospect of getting Chloe's snowboard out as well as my own! First things first, get dressed and tidy the flat.

As the morning progressed the sun shone harder and the snow slowly melted to nothing. Gutted! If I had known I would have gone for a run, it was a lovely day. Still might do it tomorrow. I think my ex-wife is going for a run tomorrow too, so I may join her.

Emma, Chloe's friend has just arrived and they are playing with their mobile phones. So I'm no longer required. We'll be leaving for a 60th Wedding Anniversary soon (very rare these days!).

Oh! I also spoke, briefly, with the ex on Facebook chat. I think she realises thatI'm not trying to get her back now (after our chat last night) so hopefully we can stop playing games and simply be friends. :)

As she always used to say : It's all good baby!

Well dunno what tonight will bring, I will take photo's and report back tomorrow. I think the general plan is going to be;

Get Up, Play, Have Lunch, Do Excercises (Abs), Ski Center (weather permitting), Drink down the pub after Chloe and Emma go home. Priceless.

Yesterday!

Yesterday it snowed, it was great. I only wish I had someone special to share it with.

Antway, all went well until I phoned my ex-girlfriend just to ask if she was ok. She's got a high a temperature and her family live in Sussex. We're trying to be friends so I didn't think it would be a problem.

She keeps thinking I'm trying to get her back, but I understand the realationship could never work out, purely because of the huge age gap. She's at uni and well I'm about ready to have a second child and settle down a bit.

Understandably the conversation went from a friendly call to see how a friend was into an emotional rollercoaster that started to get out of control. One thing that really winds me up, is when your ex-wife keep son going "are you alright...". It drives me crazy. No I'm not alright, I just realised the girl I love can never have a committed relationship with me, and it's not because we don't get on, aaaarrrghhhhhh.

Well got that off my chest! Later on my neighbourgh Dan popped over and we watched Teeth the horror movie ~ that's put me right off women now!

Before I forget, my charity runs and stuff, I have set up the websites to take donations and I am currently looking for other events to take part in. Please send me details of anything you think I may be interested in.

Scuba Diving, Kayaking, Climbing, Bouldering, Caving, Hiking, Walking, Running, Cycling, Swimming, Snowboarding you name it.

Ciao for now!

Welcome to my new blog...

Well this is my frist blog, dunno what to say really it's all a bit of an experiment!

I suppose I should first introduce myself and provide you with links to find out a little more, but only if you are truly interested!

My name is Adam, I am (at the time of writing this blog) 35 years old, I was born on the 19th March 1973. I live in Bournemouth and have done most of my life.

I work as a web site developer / designer and enjoy many activities including but not limited to;

Scuba Diving
Swimming
Snowboarding
Kayaking
Wing Chun Kung Fu
Climbing
Travelling
Camping
Motorsports
Cycling
Picnics
Drawing

I have a lovely 7 year old daughter called Chloe, and yes I am seperated from my estranged wife. I am lucky because although we seperated over 3 years ago, we now get on fine and she in fact has moved above my flat meaning I can see my daughter a hell of a lot more now.

Two years ago I met a very special young lady whom stole my heart and we went travelling around the world for 10 months. It was the best 2 years of my life and I owe everything I am now to her. I will never forget.

Now, I am very much on my own ~ however I never have a spare minute to sit down and relax. My weekly routine goes something like this;

Gym 6am daily 5 or 6 times a week
Climbing on Mondays
Diving / Climbing on Tuesdays
Climbing / Other Activities on Wednesdays
Wing Chun Kung Fu on Thursdays
Chloe or Clubbing on Fridays

Weekends are usually either taken up with Chloe or I go Snowboarding and Wing Chun on Sundays and Camping, Kayaking or whatever, whenever.

I have signed up for pretty much every social networking site on the internet, mostly for professional reasons but also as I suppose a social experiment.
